Dear Valued Patients,

We understand that many in our community will be concerned about what the next few days and weeks will bring, we share your concerns and the practice team is working hard to continue to provide care.

As a team, we are reviewing national guidance daily and adopting new ways of working to keep you, our patient community, safe. Minimising your exposure to COVID-19 symptoms and saving the lives of the most vulnerable people in our community is our priority.

At the same time we need to keep our teams safe and well so they can keep on working to provide patient care.

We understand that these are difficult and worrying times. We are appreciative of those patients who have shown empathy, consideration and patience with our team so far and thank you in advance for continuing to do so.

We are genuinely sorry if you are inconvenienced by having to wait a bit longer on the phone than you usually would or that our usual face to face service isn’t in place.

At this time none of us know how long this disruption is likely to continue for and we want to reassure you we are putting all appropriate steps in place.

We are here to help you. Please help us by;

- Reducing the volume of calls to practice by contacting us through an online consultation on our website. This is for both clinical queries which will be reviewed by a GP and administrative queries. i.e. any none COVID-19 relates sick note requests, any forms that need to be completed.

- Keeping up to date with current guidance on the gov.uk website.

- Using resources available to you in the community to stay well - our Social Prescriber, Steve Cavanagh can also help you, please visit our website for more information.

- Signing up for online access to order repeat prescriptions (MyGP app, Patient Access, Evergreen, NHS App etc) thereby reducing the need to visit practice.

- We will also accept prescription requests through eConsult on our website.

- Nominating a pharmacy - if you tell us or your pharmacy where you want to collect your prescription from, we will arrange for your prescription to be sent their automatically, again, reducing the need for you to come into practice.

Please be aware if you are invited for a face to face appointment with a GP, in order to reduce the risk of infection, please note;

- You may asked to wait in your car until your appointment and asked to use an alternative entrance.

- Where possible, only the individual who the appointment is for should attend; accompanying family or friends should wait outside the practice.

- Clinicians, and chaperones, will routinely wear Personal Protective Equipment like masks and gloves, this is for everyone's safety, so do not be alarmed.

- face to face consultation times should be kept to a minimum to reduce risk and allow us to take steps in between appointments to decontaminate the area so please only discuss immediate concerns

Thank you for your co-operation.

Please be kind. Please be patient.

Thank you
