Practice Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Health Care Assistant

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Care Navigators

Our Care Navigation Team provide an important link for patients as the initial contact point for general enquiries. They have been fully trained to triage your telephone call and have the full support of the clinical team in directing your query and booking a consultation with the correct clinician.

GP Earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

 

The average pay for GPs working in West Derby Medical Centre in the 2021/22 financial year was £72,222 before tax and National Insurance. This is for five full-time GPs and ten part-time GPs.
